MEERUT: On a day when BJP highlighted the work done by its government in the first 100 days of occupying office, Samajwadi Party on Tuesday said that the new government was a “total failure”.
Samajwadi leaders said that each and every initiative taken by the government, from Anti-Romeo squads to farm loan waiver, had failed miserably. “The BJP has failed on all fronts.
It made huge promises before coming in to power, but has not been able to keep any of those commitments. Farmers are facing crisis and law and order is in a complete mess. Clearly, the BJP is not being able to run the state,” said Rajpal Singh, Meerut city president of Samajwadi Party.
Scores of SP workers gathered at the party offices in the region and chanted slogans against the
Yogi Adityanath government. “The BJP has totally disowned the farmers. Even in the prosperous western UP region, peasants are under stress and are committing suicide. Sugar mills haven’t cleared dues. Potato farmers have also suffered in UP as they have not been able to recover the cost of producing the crop. The loan waiver that was announced in April is still to be implemented,” said Rafiq Ansari, SP MLA o from Meerut city.
